UFC Fight Night: Volkov Vs Rozenstruik

UFC Fight Night: Volkov Vs Rozenstruik

Two fighters from the Top 10 will face each other at UFC Fight Night on June 4.

While Alexander Volkov is already a veteran in the UFC, Jairzinho Rozenstruik wants to make a name for himself and be recognized as one of the great fighters of today.

Without a doubt, this will be an exciting and adrenaline-charged fight.

Opportunity to get closer to the title UFC

Saturday’s fight in Las Vegas is very important for both fighters, since a victory would put them one step closer to winning the title.

Next, we analyze both fighters.

Alexander Volkov 1.629

Volkov, who is known as ‘Drago’ is the world-ranked number seven heavyweight in the UFC. He is a veteran with a decade of professional experience in the UFC.

The 33-year-old Russian will be looking to savor victory again as he has not won in three consecutive fights, and his last loss was against England’s Tom Aspinall in March 2022 at the UFC Fight Night London event.

The loss came via submission in the first round, leaving Volkov completely humiliated and wanting to clear his name.

“The truth is, everything was pretty good,” Volkov said when asked about his preparations for the battle with Aspinall.

“The worst thing was like all the things happening in the world, but everything COVID was good. I was in good shape, it was a good camp—everything was good—but I just think Aspinall was good in this fight.

“You said it right: there are no excuses.”

Drago’s only consolation is that all of his losses have been against fighters ranked higher than him.

Volkov is 34-10 with 22 knockouts and three submissions. Although he knew how to have a 4-fight win streak since his arrival in the UFC, he has since alternated wins and losses.

‘Drago’ had earned three performance bonuses, one of them for Fight of the Night, when he defeated Stefan Struve in September 2017, and another two for Performance of the Night.

When he defeated the legendary Fabrício Werdum and Alistair Overeem in March 2018 and February 2021 respectively.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik 2.35

Rozenstruik, known as ‘Bigi Boy,’ is ranked 8 in the UFC and has just been defeated by the American Curtis Blaydes in September 2021 at the UFC 266 event via unanimous decision.

Big Boy is 12-3 with 11 knockouts and one submission. Although he knew how to have a streak of 4 wins since his arrival in the UFC, he has alternated wins and losses; he was also undefeated in his first ten fights as a professional.

The Suriname native is a powerful puncher, and a win here would put him on a fast track to a title shot.

The 34-year-old has earned two performance bonuses, both for Performance of the Night, following his wins over Allen Crowder and Augusto Sakai, whom he knocked out in June 2019 and June 2021, respectively.
